There is a town in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, which is famous for its Mirchi Bada, which is called 'Mawa Nagari'. Its name is Dangiyawas. This town is about 30 kilometers away from Pawta.

Just like Alwar is famous for delicious Kalakand, Dangiyawas is famous for pearl-like grainy Mawa. There are not just one or two but more than 200 shops here. Mawa made from pure and fresh milk is sold here. Many celebrities have also tasted the Mawa here.

The history of Dangiyavas's mawa is also full of sweetness. It is said that the famous mawa was started by two brothers about 70 years ago. Milk was produced in large quantities at the house of Mangilal and Kherajram Dangi of Dangiyavas village. A lot of milk was left over every day. In such a situation, they learned the method of making mawa by curdling the leftover milk with alum.

Initially, they used to make mawa from the leftover milk and distribute it at home. Even then mawa was left over. In such a situation, both the brothers started selling mawa on the highway near their home. After this, they opened a shop here. The taste of fresh mawa made from pure milk without adulteration started becoming popular among the people. People going to Jodhpur started stopping at Dangiyawas to buy mawa.

There is a 70 year old shop named Mahadev Mishthan Bhandar here. We met Ghevararam Dangi here. He told us that his grandfather Kherajaram Dangi started this shop. At that time there were only two shops here. Gradually the mawa of this place became famous and the number of shops also started increasing.

Mawa became so famous that today there are more than 200 shops here. It has become a major source of employment for the villagers of Dangiyavas and the surrounding areas.

Celebrities are also crazy about this mawa,many celebrities have tasted the mawa of Dangiyawas. Many actors call here and order mawa. Shots of some films have also been shot here. Many ministers and former chief ministers are impressed by the taste of this mawa. Anushka Sharma tasted the mawa here during the shooting of her movie 'NH-10' in the year 2014. At that time, she enjoyed the taste of this place along with the shots of the movie which were filmed at Mahadev Mishthan Bhandar itself.

Mawa is available 24 hours a day, salty and spicy potato chips are also famous. More than 40 thousand vehicles ply on this highway from Jodhpur to Jaipur every day. People going from Jaipur to Jodhpur or vice versa do not forget to buy Mawa from here.

Usually, shops in cities are open for 10 hours only, but Mawa is available 24 hours in Dangiyawas. Shops on the highway have a steady flow of customers throughout the night. Sweets operators say that this business has grown only because of purity. Apart from Mawa, large size namkeen and spicy potato chips are also quite famous.
