Maharaj Peda Wale's shop is located in front of NBC Company on Khatipura Road in Hasanpura area of Jaipur. It was started in 1973 by Jaipur resident Madan Maharaj.
Madan Maharaj used to work in NBC Company located on Khatipura Road in Jaipur. When Maharaj retired from the company, his co-workers urged him to stay in Jaipur. Work was needed to live and make a living in the city. In such a situation, Maharaj remembered his old skill. While living in Shekhawati, Maharaj had once learned to make Peda.
He got an idea that why not bring the taste of Chidawa's famous Peda to Jaipur. Then what, he opened a small shop by putting a wooden plank on the roadside in front of the NBC company gate.

Started making double-fried pedas at home in the traditional way. Double-fried pedas are sold in Chidawa but Maharaj gave it a different look. He made it round. Also, due to double frying, its colour became brown and the taste was also excellent. Got the benefit of knowing everyone working in NBC.
Whoever tasted the pedas for the first time, became crazy about it forever. This was the time when many old sweet makers in Jaipur were popular among the people. But Maharaj's pedas made a special place in the hearts of the people. On every festival, there was a demand for his pedas among common and VVIP people.
People used to respect Dinesh Maharaj by the name of Dada. As soon as he opened the shop in the morning, he would prepare fresh pedas and there would be a crowd of buyers as soon as he made them. People would place orders in advance to prepare fresh pedas. Initially, the price of pedas was ₹5 per kg but with time the rate also changed and the price of 1 kg of pedas is 380 rupees.

From 1980, Madan Maharaj's two sons Dinesh Sharma and Bajrang Lal Sharma took over the shop. After that, the demand for peda increased even more. With the help of his sons, Madan Maharaj started taking orders for big events. Dada's peda became very popular among the people of Jaipur far and wide.
The taste was so popular among the people that even the immigrants living in America started demanding it. People living in Jaipur started sending peda to their friends and relatives from far off places. The demand for peda kept increasing during weddings and festivals too
