Beawar's Tilpatti made from white sesame seeds and sugar syrup is spreading its fragrance not only in Rajasthan but also in the country and abroad. The artisans roll the sesame seeds mixed with sugar syrup on big plates like roti and make it as fine as papad. For the past 80 years, the local artisans here have been preparing it by hand. This taste of Beawar is doing an annual business of crores of rupees.
The method by which this tilpatti is prepared can be prepared anywhere, but the taste and crispiness of the tilpatti made in Beawar is not found anywhere else. The artisans also made several attempts to make similar tilpatti outside, but could not bring the same taste. The main reason behind this is also considered to be the climate here.

The work of making Tilpatti is in full swing in more than 50 shops in Beawar, which is about 50 km from Ajmer. As soon as the winter season starts, the work of making Tilpatti starts on a war footing. Due to advance orders, there is pressure on the businessmen to supply the goods on time.
There are about twenty-five to thirty wholesalers and more than a hundred retailers here. Hundreds of artisans who make dishes from sesame get employment throughout the year. According to businessman Pradeep Singh, the annual turnover of Tilpatti is more than ten crore rupees.
Started in 1938, today there are different types of brands. It is said that Til Patti was first started in Beawar by Ramdhan Bhati in 1938. Today in the fourth generation of Ramdhan Bhati, his great grandson Pradeep Singh is also engaged in this business. Ramdhan experimented on the way elderly women of the house used to make sesame laddus in winters. He liked its taste and gradually changes were made in it and then Til Patti which was as fine as sesame came into existence. As the demand started increasing, the local artisans took this work forward.
